Day Retreats

Host your group at Purification Heritage Center for a special day of retreat, reflection, and
renewal. With the help of PHC staff and volunteers, plan your program for the day which can
include a PHC docent presentation on the history of the cradle of Catholicism in Georgia and/or
a 30-minute Bible study session on the Gospel of St. Luke, Chapter 2, which highlights the
Purification of Mary and the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple (the event for which the
church is named).

Let PHC offer guidance on retreat topics and assist with logistics to maximize
your experience. Include a visit to Georgia’s oldest Catholic cemetery as part of your sacred
experience.

Suggested hours: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Tax deductible retreat fee = $250/group
Additional optional lunch can be provided by PHC at the cost of $10 per person.

Walking Pilgrimages

Bring your group on a special pilgrimage to Church of the Purification and Locust Grove
Cemetery that are part of Purification Heritage Center.

Once you arrive by bus or car to
Sharon, GA, your pilgrimage begins. Starting at either the church or the original cemetery, we
launch your journey with a short presentation on the history of the cradle of Catholicism in
Georgia and the importance of our community to the Catholic faith.

Your group then walks the
2-mile journey from the church to the oldest Catholic cemetery in Georgia or vice versa.
Moderate hills, woods, and a country road take you back in time to experience parts of the
earliest English Catholic settlement in our state.

Pilgrimage time – 4 hours

Tax deductible Pilgrimage fee = $250/group
Additional optional sack lunch can be provided by PHC at $10 per person

We can make suggestions for your group if you need overnight accommodations in the area.
